Structure
Blended delivery with combinaton of online and face-to-face contact. No classroom or block training.
Course consists of:
- Theory: online modules can be completed at any time. Supported by video resources and unlimited trainer phone/video conference and email support.
- Practical: On-site training and assessment conducted by experienced Tradies.
- On-the-Job: Learning is occurring every day when onsite! Our system effortlessly records all on-the-job learning. Note: if student cannot be exposed to the full range of carpentry tasks expected in this course on-the-job, a short block release may be required to achieve all practical training and assessment.
Learning and Assessment
- Unit sequence can be adjusted on request.
- Alternative elective units may be available on request.
- Being Self-Paced modules, apprentices can fast track their studies with the agreement of their employer.
- Learning: Consists of Interactive online readings, videos and activities.
- Assessment: Consists of quizzes, written questions, practical projects and evidence portfolio.
- Credit Transfers and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be offered.

Fees and Funding
Funding
Adapt Education is approved by the QLD Government to deliver User Choice funded training for this qualification.
- This course is an approved Free apprenticeship for under 25’s program.
- This course is an approved Career Start Apprenticeship course for QLD apprentices.
- This course is an approved School Based Apprenticeship course (SAT).
- Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine paid work with structured training.
- You may be a full-time or part-time employee, a new or existing employee.
- Apprenticeships and traineeships require employers to enter into a training contract with the apprentice or trainee, which is a legally binding agreement to work and train together for a length of time.
- Trainees will pay a set contribution fee towards their training. The employer may choose to pay these on the participant’s behalf. Concessional rates and some exemptions may apply.
- Employers and the Trainees may be eligible for incentives (see Government funding page for more info) or contact an Apprenticeship Network Provider (such as MAS or MEGT) to confirm your eligibility.

Course Fees
- Fees quoted below are per student for the self-paced online study mode
- Enrolments cannot be accepted from international students or those in Australia on a student or education visa.
- Fees quoted include: course fees, administration fees and compulsory course materials such as text books, workbooks and handouts. Prices quoted do not include: face-to-face classes or tutoring, site visits, internet costs, stationary and other consumables such as printing paper, etc.
- Additional fees may apply if you are completing the first aid unit as part of your course. Refer to the relevant course outline for further details.

Payment Plans
Payment plans are offered at no additional cost! That’s right, you DO NOT pay more if you opt for a payment plan. No Interest, account, or administration fees. You nominate the payment periods (i.e. weekly, fortnightly or monthly). You nominate the amount you are comfortable paying (i.e. $50, $100, $200, etc.). Payment plans are processed with a direct debit system.
Upfront Payments can be made by credit card, bank transfer, cheque, money order or cash.

If you have previous study or experience in Carpentry (or in a related field such as Construction) you may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Discounts may apply for Credits and RPLs. If you would like us to provide an estimate of the units you would be likely to receive Credit or RPL for please forward copies of all previous qualifications you have completed (listing units completed) and an overview of your experience (or a resume). From there we can provide a proposed course outline and quote.
- If you are completing this course as part of an apprenticeship you must be signed up to a carpentry apprenticeship through an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (such as MRAEL or MEGT).
- It is an expectation that you will have access to a computer/device and the internet.
- Students must meet minimum Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills.
- Participants must own or have access to all safety equipment required of the job role, including steel cap boots, hard hat, safety glasses, ear muffs, face mask/respirator, high vis vest, etc.
