This is a nationally recognised unit of competency that may contribute to compliance requirements of a service provider. In this program you will learn:
- Legal and ethical practices for working with young people
- How to identify and interact with children at risk
- How to report concerns
This course is a self-paced, online enrolment structured as follows:
- Learning: webinar (recorded) and elearning module
- Assessment: multi Choice Quiz; Written Questions; Practical (completion of role play and suspicion of abuse or neglect form)

National Law
The Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations relating to embedding Child Safe Principles have been endorsed by all states and territories. The Child Safe Principles include requirements for child protection training. Refer to your relevant State or Territory government for specific information as each region is at different stages of implementation.
The Queensland Government Child Protection Training Requirements
The nominated supervisors, persons in day-to-day charge and family day care coordinators must complete a child protection course.
From 1 April 2025 one of the following is required:
- CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk
- CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
- CHCPRT026—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
- CHCPRT002—Support the rights and safety of children and young people
- CHCECE057—Use collaborative practices to uphold child protection principles
