Course Outcomes
- Nationally Recognised Certificate II in Sport and Recreation (SIS20122)
- First Aid Certificate

Duration
Structure to be confirmed with your school. We have several recommended course structures including:
- 1 day per week for 1 semester
- 1/2 day per week for 1 year
- 1 line on timetable for 1 year
- Self-paced online over 2 years.
Note: additional time may need to be scheduled to gain relevant experience performing Sport and Recreation duties (i.e. assistance in carnivals and sports teams).
Delivery
- RTO Delivery
- Full RTO delivery: Students undertake the course Self-Paced Online. This may be fully independent from school studies or you may dedicate spare periods and incursion days to complete the course.
- RTO delivery supported by school: Students undertake the course Self-Paced Online. This is generally built into the student’s timetable. With a dedicated line on their timetable or selected incursion days to complete the course. Adapt Education is responsible for all training and assessment. The school is responsible for providing basic student support and assisting with the coordination of practical assessments.
For each of the above study modes, Adapt Education provide unlimited online, phone and email support to students.
Partnered Delivery
- Some schools have established a partnering agreement with Adapt Education, where the school takes all or some of the responsibility for training and assessing the course to a cohort of students. In such instances your school will have a course outline or subject handbook detailing the specific arrangements available and pricing. Typically, students undertake the course through a combination of classroom and online study, known as blended learning.

This program is available to school cohorts Australia wide.
Learning & Assessment
For the theory component of the course, resources are online in our world class eLearning system. Resources can be printed or provided on a USB stick if needed.
Assessment consists of three key areas:
- Theory assessment: multi-choice and short answer questions.
- Practical assessment: students will be observed performing practical activities
Practical
- Work Experience: Most experience will be gained by contributing to school sports carnivals and school sports teams. Experience with external organisations can be arranged.
Equipment
All student resources and equipment is provided.

- It is expected that students have basic written and verbal communication skills, basic numeracy skills and basic computer operating skills.
- Schools must disclose any students with additional needs such as behavioural, LLN, learning or disabilities. Support strategies and reasonable adjustments can be discussed.
- Individual enrolments are not accepted for this program. This program can only be offered to students from participating schools. Participating schools are those that have engaged us to provide this program via one of the delivery methods detailed above.
The following first aid units are listed within this course and can only be completed through a face-to-face program:
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
To complete these units you have the following options:
- You may book into a My Industry Training first aid course (conducted at our Wynnum campus). For group bookings we may be able to offer onsite training by negotiation. For more information click here.
- Complete the listed units with any provider in Australia. Simply present your certificate to us on completion and we will credit the units towards your course.
- If you are completing this course with your school through a partnering arrangement, these units may be included. Refer to the course outline or subject handbook provided by your school to determine if your school will be delivering these units and if any additional fees will apply.
Some important points to consider:
- The cost of the first aid units are not included in the course fees listed. You will need to pay the listed course fee to your selected first aid provider.
- Ensure you are booking into a first aid course that includes all of the nationally recognised units listed above (unit codes must match exactly).
