Who is this Course For?
This Nationally Recognised course is for:
- School-based students (Yr 10 – 12) seeking a Vocational (VET) Pathway.
- Anyone engaged in a school based traineeship.

Course Outcomes
- Up to 8 Credit Points towards QCE (Senior Certificate)
- Minimum ATAR rank of 68
- Meaningful pathways into employment in business, administration, customer service and other office based roles
- Pathway to higher level qualifications.
Note: ATAR & QCE information is generic only. Students individual circumstances (such as previous qualifications) can impact eligibility for QCE points. Refer to university policies regarding acceptance of VET qualifications and rankings as they can differ (Some universities do not accept Cert III courses for entry).
Study Modes
RTO Delivery
- Full RTO delivery: Students undertake the course Self-Paced Online. This may be fully independent from school studies or you may dedicate spare periods and incursion days to complete the course.
- RTO delivery supported by school: Students undertake the course Self-Paced Online. This is generally built into the student’s timetable. With a dedicated line on their timetable or selected incursion days to complete the course. Adapt Education is responsible for all training and assessment. The school is responsible for providing basic student support.
For each of the above study modes, Adapt Education provide unlimited online, phone and email support to students.
Partnered Delivery
- Some schools have established a partnering agreement with Adapt Education, where the school takes all or some of the responsibility for training and assessing the course. In such instances your school will have a course outline or subject handbook detailing the specific arrangements available and pricing. Typically, students undertake the course through a combination of classroom and online study, known as blended learning.

Duration
Ideally, you will enrol at the start of Yr 11 and complete by November 1 of Year 12. Enrolments can be accepted from students at any stage through Yr10 – Yr 12 by negotiation. For example if you want to commence early (Yr 10) or change pathways or subjects during Yr 11 or 12, please contact to discuss your options.
As this is a self-paced course, the option to fast-track may be available. Extensions are available, but should first be discussed with Adapt Education and your school’s vocational coordinator to determine if it will impact your QCE or ATAR.
As a guide, someone dedicating one line on their school timetable (over Yr 11 & 12) can expect to comfortably complete by the end of Yr 12.
What is Self-paced Online Learning?
- Self-paced learning provides a flexible study arrangement. You can schedule your study around other classes and personal commitments at times that suit you. There are no assessment due dates and no time tabled lectures. Simply work your way through our online modules with your classmates or at your own pace.
- Online Learning: Modules are provided in our world class online platform. It is user friendly and interactive. You will have access to recorded webinars and learner workbook video tutorials so there’s less reading for you.
Learning and Assessment
Learning consists of recorded webinars, interactive learning modules and readings. For online students, these are provided in our student portal.
We reduce the assessment workload in this course through the use of integrated assessments. Each course module consists of assessment components such as quizzes, written questions, case studies, projects, and role plays.

- Fees are all inclusive and represent the total fee a student may expect to pay for the course.
- Discounts may apply for Credit Transfers or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- Enrolments cannot be accepted from international students or those in Australia on a student or education visa.
- Additional fees may apply if you are completing the first aid unit as part of your course. Refer to the relevant course outline for further details.

School Based Traineeships
This course can form part of a School Based Traineeship (SAT) for QLD school students. The traineeship involves:
- Working for an employer 1 day (7.5hrs) per week. Trainees must complete 375hrs (50 days) of paid employment over each 12 month period;
- Completing the Certificate III in Business;
- The school, student, their parent/guardian, employer and training organisation will negotiate a schedule which outlines when the student is at school, work and training.

Note:
* Students completing Elective Stream 1 or 2 will receive BSB30120 Certificate III in Business.

- You should be achieving at least a “pass” or “C-” in English and Maths.
- You will have access to a computer and the internet to complete the assessment requirements of the course. Please discuss with Adapt if this is an issue as strategies can be put in place to assist.
- All students will complete a Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Skills (LLND) test
